Ramayanam is the holy book of Hindus. By listening the name ramayanam every body remembers Lord Rama, Sita, Laxman and Ravana. Nobody even does not know the author of this book Valmiki.

Valmiki is a thief and he changed his mental status and wrote ramayan which the whole world is reading and knowing a lot.
The famous personalities in ramayanam are the king Dhasharatha maharaja, his three wives Kousalya, Sumithra, Kikeyi, his four sons Rama, Laxmana, Bharatha ans Sathrugna, Rama's wife Seeta devi, Rakshasa king Ravana.
These characters are very near to our real life and we have to learn a lot from these ramayanam.
Dasharatha married three women and due to this he suffered a lot which leads finally to his death because his last wife asked a wish that he should send Rama to aranyavasa for 14 years and her son Bharatha should become king for Ayodhya. The character of Kikeyi says that every one is selfish to lead their lives happily which is now happening in the present world.
Rama, hero of ramayanam says every son should listen to the words of their parents. In the present days children are not seeing atleast to the parents goodnesses in their old age.
Sita, said to be pathivratha who ever follows her husband.
Laxmana, follower of his brother says how the siblings should be?.
Ravana, villan of ramayanam. He is a very great king and a honest bhaktha of Lord Shiva who have no bad habits but wish a wife of another person to enjoy which makes him a bad person. This tells that wishing another lady without her interest leads a person to destroy completely.
