Biggest explosion on the moon

Blast on MOON

Impact of the biggest explosion from a meteorite on the moon in eight years had seen and recorded by NASA scientists.

The moon is the likely body in the solar system which subjects to frequent bombardment by small space rocks. These objects looks like fairly tiny, pebble-sized or smaller.

In 2005 NASA set up a program to identify how often they occur. The lunar impact team has identified more than 300 explosions, in which most of them faint and usually happening at the same time as a meteor shower on Earth.

There is a hot on the moon which is revealed by a rock brought back by astronauts from the last Apollo mission in 1972 has finally proven its worth by revealing that the moon used to have a hot.

On the moon, the dust is like a projectile motion. It goes up and it comes right down. There are no dust trails left by the lunar rover.

Researchers made a research to know how often they can expect such impacts, which could come in handy when planning moonwalks during future astronaut trips to our satellite.
