Patchwork plans are
efforts to fill any particular with some worthwhile theme, yet they seldom

Now this patch work
plan is placed to replace the train services. In morning Metro-North says it is
commute in Connecticut and going as well as can be expected following train
collision outside Bridgeport that has shut down service in that area.
The railroad is using
a fleet of 120 buses at the Bridgeport train station to help rail commuters
make their way around the scene of the accident and help get them get to New
York.
A shuttle train was
operating about every 20 minutes Monday morning between New Haven and
Bridgeport. Shuttle buses are running between the Bridgeport and Stamford
stations, where commuters commute are again board trains for the final leg of
their commute.
Officials say
Friday's collision outside Bridgeport impacts about 30,000 people who normally
use the train.
Heavy congestion was
reported along Interstate 95 and the Merritt Parkway.
