Down's syndrome linked to "Brain protein loss"

Recent US study says that "lack of protein in Down's syndrome brains could be the cause of learning and memory problems".

Down syndrome also called as Trisomy21 is a condition in which extra genetic material causes delay in the way a child develops. It affects the child both mentally and physically. For every 800 babies it affects about 1 child in the united states.

Child suffering with down syndrome have different features. Down syndrome can't be prevented it can be detected before the baby was born. Extra copy of chromosome21 in people with this condition is triggered with protein loss.

Scientists are saying that extra genes from chromosome21 lead to down syndrome. It alters the interaction between these and others genes. Due to this interaction some genes become more active and some becomes less active than normal which leads to the disturbance in maintenance of the physical and mental conditions. There is no clarity that which genes are responsible for this abnormal condition in chromosome21. There are so many risk factors for conceiving a child with down syndrome.

Some features of the down syndrome are flattened face and nose, short neck, small mouth, large tounge, slanting eyes, small ears, skin folds. White spots are also present in the colored part of the eye. Poor muscle tone and short hands are also the symptoms.

In the latest study it is known that the down's syndrome causes the protein loss in brain. Due to this there is a loss in memory. Memory loss is a dangerous condition which made the human to lead a pathetic life.
